The number of agri-food tech investments in Ireland doubled over the last year.
Despite a slight dip in sectoral tech investment in 2016, worldwide the sector has grown from just $2.3 billion to $10.1 in 2017.
This is investment in companies that aim to disrupt the global food and agriculture industry with tech solutions previously unthought of. This investment covers things like synthetic animal free milk, for which the company involved secured $25 million recently to innovate.
Ireland is regarded as a high potential country in this field, as it has a strong track record in both agriculture and technology. Stalker wonders what mushroom innovations may be just over the horizon?
