Newspaper reports indicating that Britain’s Horticulture farms are suffering a 12.5 percent fall in seasonal workers is sure to get politicians worked up in the UK.
Fewer than one percent of seasonal workers carrying out jobs like fruit-picking were UK nationals.
The NFU has been collating the data and their deputy president Monette Batters said - “It is clear solutions are still needed to ensure farmers and growers have access to sufficient number of workers for both the forthcoming season and post-Brexit.”
