Both Tesco and Waitrose announced new vegan products to coincide with the phenomenon that is Veganuary.
It’s a trending movement among the hip young things, to go meatless in January, as some kind of detoxing dietary regimen.
It’s all good news hopefully for the mushroom industry, as mushrooms meet the requisite qualities for vegan consumption, and are deemed to be healthier than more run of the mill meat substitutes. So if there’s a spike in demand in the early part of the year, now we’ll know why!
