As loathe as Stalker is to begin mentioning Brexit again this year, there were two recent remarks by notable personages, that deserve a mention.
Firstly, the Taoiseach was telling the IFA general meeting that a hard Brexit would be catastrophic for the Republic, with the Irish agri-food sector uniquely exposed.
Then there was the comment of Stephen Norman, the new managing director of Vauxhall Motors in the UK, and Opel’s Irish operation. He said: “There are a number of hypotheses concerning Brexit today, but there’s not enough clarity as to what is going to happen.”
With talk of another possible Brexit referendum firming up, who knows what is going to emerge by March 2019.
