Farming remains the most hazardous occupation in Ireland, consistently showing the highest number of fatalities in comparison with other sectors.
This year the mushroom sector has been hit as well with a fatality.
With the experts advocating ever more vigilance and safety precautions, and an awareness that rushing things can lead to accidents - let’s hope the number of fatalities on Irish farms goes downward next year.
