According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service, the value of mushrooms produced in the U.S. hit an all-time high last year of $1.22 billion.
The increased value is tied in with mushrooms trending as a major food group combined with the increasing popularity of The Blend, the initiative which began in 2014 as a food service project with the Culinary Institute of America’s Healthy Menus Collaborative.
The idea of the blend is quite compelling in the culinary sphere.
Stalker admits to trying out a blend, in an attempt to make a no meat mushroom blended burger. Of course it failed as a burger, but came good as a falafel parcel. Stalker can confirm that blending is good for the amateur cheffing soul.
