Walsh Mushrooms are launching a new vitamin D mushroom in the UK.
The company has developed the new mushroom range from their Evesham base in the UK. They will be delivering them into Aldi stores in the Midlands in the UK from October.
Vitamin D of course is essential to proper functioning of the human body, and with deficiencies in the vitamin identified in northern European populations especially in the winter months, this functional food will no doubt receive a lot of interest.
Only recently another study has suggested that lack of vitamin D is related to the incidence of asthma, which has been on the increase in recent decades.
