There’s been plenty of evidence of good growth this year in the hedgerows.
The haw and other berries have been rendering the countryside very colourful. The wee birds have had a good year too, with evidence of plenty of them populating the bushes and hedges.
Someone somewhere can probably extrapolate a weather prediction out of such signs - but basically it was just a very temperate year. Good for birds, berries and some butterflies too.
