German chemicals giant BASF has made the largest acquisition in its 152 year history, buying over significant parts of Bayer’s seed and non-selective herbicide business.
The transaction means that BASF, which is the world's third largest maker of crop chemicals, enters the seed business for the first time.
The company is behind the newest anti cobweb disease product for the mushroom market - Vivando.
