Sterling has gained a little ground against the euro in the past few days towards the middle of September.
The pound was trading on foreign exchange markets at €1.11.
Now towards the end of September the pound is trading at €1.14.
So it is a bit of movement in the right direction as far as Irish mushroom growers are concerned.
Most analysis would suggest that the currency will hold in and around this mark for the next while - as long as there are not any unexpected shocks to either currency bloc.
The movement is all about the rate of interest now, with the prospect of the Bank of England raising the rate in the next review by 1/4 of a percent.
