A Bord Bia report out at the end of July on healthy eating shows that 7 out of 10 Irish people want to eat healthily.
With the emphasis on fresh fruit and veg, it should be good news to mushroom producers. With the importance of buying local also being a salient feature it should work in favour of mushroom consumption.
Environmentally sensitive packaging as well as ecologically sustainable production were highlighted too - so there is always room to improve more in seducing the Irish consumer.
