Food Prices in the UK have risen their fastest for three years in the 12 weeks to March. Inflation is back after a period of falling prices. The fall in the pound has pushed up the cost of imported goods, it has also increased the cost of energy too, which feeds into food prices.
The Ulster fry index has reported a 2.8 per cent increase recently - this is the index that uses the ingredients commonly used in the Ulster fry.
Eggs are the only category showing a fall in prices. Mushrooms are remaining unchanged, while tomatoes and pork sausages are up about 7% a piece in price.
