The latest report by the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture gives pause to those in government in the south.
The report questions the viability, and validity of the Food Wise 2025 plan, the effective blueprint for the future growth of the agri-food sector in Ireland up to 2025.
Of course it is Brexit that is causing the road humps up ahead in the plan. The road ahead is not going to be as smooth as envisaged, as the UK exit from the EU was not foreseen by the food wise planners.
As the old saw goes, the best plan is one that can be changed - no doubt the powers that be are already working on that!
