The trouble with the euro is that talk of trouble with the euro doesn't seem to go away.
Recently the currency has been in for a bit of kicking, with the new US president having a go at the euro from without. And now in France, the potential presidential candidate Marine Le Pen is saying she’ll take France out of the euro if she gets in. The credit ratings agency Moodys has also weighed into the kicking that the currency is receiving of late. Moodys suggest that the single currency is causing divergence across Europe, essentially driving nations apart.
The currency seems to have become a political football. All the while the creaking of the economic timbers continues, as eurozone countries that are weaker continue to be constrained by the economic strictures of the euro bloc.
All we can do is watch on as the currency dynamics play out. Hedging your bets in every direction is probably the the safest stance.
