The winter vegetable supply crunch, caused by weather conditions in the Mediterranean may have a upside for the mushroom industry.

As stably supplied fresh produce  into supermarkets, consumers may well be making up for the shortfall of traditional winter veg with mushrooms.

No doubt the figures from suppliers will tell the tale.  

With tales of lettuces going for £4 a head, abounding, consumers were urged to eat seasonal produce.
