There’s more consolidation within the mushroom sector in Ireland this month as Walsh Mushrooms takeover Tipperary based Golden Mushrooms.
Golden Mushrooms was founded by Michael and Marian Bergin and began operating outside the village of Golden in Co Tipperary in 1998.
It grew to become a significant supplier of mushrooms into the Irish market.
The company employs 90 people, a workforce that will continue working on in the new entity Walsh Mushrooms Golden Ltd. The company has achieved turnover of over €5m.
