CURRENCY MOVES
The pound has strengthened against the euro even further with worries on the currency markets about after a referendum vote in Italy in December. Looks like there will be a general election vote in Italy by February, bringing more instability to that country and to the eurozone. At the beginning of the month one pound sterling bought over €1.20. Or to put it the other way, a euro was worth just under 84 pence. The other way of looking at that is that the euro has weakened, obviously. No doubt there will be plenty more currency movements in the months ahead.
