With a stint on Ear to the Ground followed up by a half page article in the UK Guardian Newspaper, grower Gerry Reilly is certainly getting the message out there. The half page in the Guardian's financial pages on Saturday 12th November headlined - “Brexit plunges Irish mushroom farmers into darkness.”
Summing things up at the end of the piece Gerry said:” I have been in mushroom farming since the 1980s. I work off one fundamental principle: I believe that the English will pay higher price for the mushrooms, because these are the ones they want. The Irish product. Anyway, what’s the alternative? They still love the Irish mushroom...we hope.” Too right, says Stalker!
