Stalker noticed a warning to the public in the UK to stay clear of red squirrels. People are warned to stay away from them for fear of catching disease. The disease in question is human leprosy caused by mycobacterium leprae.
Having only ever spotted one red squirrel ever, Stalker reckons people don’t have to worry too much about staying clear of them. In Ireland at least they are vanishingly rare.
