October was unusually dry this year in all areas of Ireland, except Kerry. The Kingdom experienced record breaking rainfall during October according to Met Eireann.
Everywhere else recorded the driest month of October for decades. Rainfall for most of Ireland was half its normal values. Extremely dry was the main description.
The UN has declared that 2016 is the hottest year on record globally.
Although November started off cold and all forecasts indicate it will end that way too - into winter we go!
