A deadly new superbug has emerged in the UK, and has already forced the closure of an NHS intensive care unit. Of course the bug is a fungus, and it appears to be deadly in 60 % of cases of infection. The fungus is Candida auris, which was first found in the ear of a patient in Japan in 2009.
Stalker imagines that the Toyota car firm will not be too pleased about the appearance of this new “superbug”.
So far multi-drug resistant strains have not been detected in the UK or Ireland, thankfully.
PS- Stalkerrecently read that Typhoid Mary was originally from Cookstown in Co Tyrone. Her maiden name was apparently Igoe. Maybe there is a pattern emerging here.
