NEW MINISTER

The new minister for Agriculture in the Republic of Ireland is Michael Creed.

Mr Creed replaces Simon Coveney  in the Ag hot seat - he now has moved to become Minister for Housing, a policy priority for the new government.

Mr Creed has been Fine Gael TD for Cork North-West since 1989 - but this is his first time in Cabinet.

We wish the new minister well in all his endeavours in the new posting.
