The Sunday Times Rich List 2016 was published at the end of April. It styles itself as the definitive guide to wealth in Britain and Ireland. The guide listed the top 250 richest people in Ireland. Who knew that the richest Irish folk are in retailing, and they own Brown Thomas in Dublin and Selfridges in London. That’s the Weston family, in at number one slot with £11 billion..
The mushroom industry retained an entry, with Ronnie Wilson and family coming in at position 222 in the £47 million category(€60 million). The entry reads: “Ronnie Wilson* Food. Former teacher Wilson owns the majority of Monaghan Mushrooms. The 68 year old’s sons Philip, 40 and Paul 39, are on the board. £46 m.”
The Wilson clan come in just ahead of Daniel Day Lewis.
