Irish comedian and science geek Dara O’Brian was hosting a BBC programme lately that is investigating where our food comes from, and all the latest about the food industry.
In the programme there was an item on how mushroom mycelium was being used to produce chocolate that is a lot healthier due to lowered sugar content, but just as sweet.
It was quite amazing to find out that mushroom technologies are being used to help create this sweetest of treats.
Dara also visited the Quorn factory in Yorkshire to see how the mycoprotein is created and shaped into so many varied foodstuffs. Fascinating programme, with many little fungal asides.
