Sunday the 24th of January was the warmest January evening ever recorded by Armagh Observatory. The observatory has been recording daily maximum and minimum temperatures in Armagh since 1843. It said temperatures on that Sunday night did not dip below 12.6C - the warmest January evening since January 10 1998. That Sunday's daytime temperature reached a high of 15C, making it the second warmest January day on record.
