Dublin had its rainiest January since 1948. Cork reported its wettest January since 1988. Half of all Met Eireann weather stations recorded their highest January temperatures in nearly 20 years. Malin head in Donegal had its highest January temperature since 1960, with 14.5C. Also Storm Gertrude brought winds of 130 km/h at Malin Head on the 28th and 29th of the month.
And sunshine varied throughout the state, with 29.5 hours recorded in Valentia, and a whopping 66.4 hours of sunshine recorded in Dublin. Looks like Dublin had the sunniest January too!
