News that the local electricity bills in the North are set to fall by 10% can only be good news. The juice has not been this cheap since 2000 A.D. As the MD at Power NI said; “ this all means more money in the pockets of householders, farmers and businesses.” Lower-priced international wholesale gas is behind the double digit price cuts. Let’s hope it remains cheap for a good while. With tensions rising again in the Middle East and Russia talking of a new cold war - energy prices could begin to float upward very easily.
