Stalker noticed a nice wee promo on fresh Irish Button Mushrooms in southern shops in November. The big orange sticker on the 200g punnet of mushrooms announced WIN €1,000. With the just add mushrooms logo underneath and a closing date of December 3rd, it was an alluring little pull towards the purchase of mushrooms!
For the chance to win 3 cash prizes of €1000, all you had to do was answer a multiple choice question - Which is a healthy food to eat at breakfast. A: Mushrooms, B: Cake, or C: Sweets. Easy peasy. Then just send a 15c text with the word BORDBIA to the competition number, with name and address, and Bob’s your uncle.
Definitely it was a smart little promotion. UnfortunatelyStalker didn’t win any of the three prizes!
