Spotted at the mushroom conference was Monaghan Mushrooms MD Ronnie Wilson passing through the exhibition, shaking hands with minister Tom Hayes and having a few wee words.
On the same evening, eagle-eyed viewers of the BBC Harvest 2015 programme would have spotted Ronnie again, looking very well on telly.He was showing presenter Greg Wallace around a Monaghan Mushrooms facility.
Ronnie was very eloquent as he explained the ins and outs of mushroom growing at the largest mushroom facility in Europe at Langford, Somerset in the West Country in England.
Stalker noted that the show’s presenters were amazed by the growing systems in place and even remarked on the beauty of the fresh mushrooms produced. Talk of Vitamin D enhancement via sunlight also featured prominently.
