Once again this year we have been reading of heathlands and forests in England being denuded of mushrooms by picking gangs.
Sussex heathland and the New Forest are two spots where the authorities are trying to take action to stop people over-picking the autumnal bounty.
Stalker is all for foraging in the wild for the superb mushroom riches that abound on these islands, however when places are stripped of fungi, both edible and poisonous, it can only be bad for the natural habitat.
