The summer of 2015 was cooler and wetter than average, and that’s putting it mildly. August was apparently the wettest August on record in the UK since 1912. El Nino was given the blame for most of the unseasonal weather, creating divergent weather patterns which affected the normal jet stream activity and caused much of the wet and cooler weather. Ireland too suffered badly on the summer stats. It was the wettest August in six years for many parts of the country. Also the Valentia Observatory records its coolest August in 29 years. The UK Met office predicted a warm dry summer. Once again they’re getting some stick about that.
