The summer of 2015 has turned into a cold damp squib for much of Ireland.
The end of July saw frost in the North even, a rare turn of weather even for us.
August too has been cooler to date than normal with a lot of cloud and rain also. 2014 was the hottest year recorded in 25 European countries, with global warming being the reason given.
Counter-intuitively, Ireland seems to be recording cooler summers of late, but once again climate change is behind it according to scientific analysis.
