Stalker was bowled over with the news that Moy Park was sold for the piddling sum of €1.32 billion to Brazilian company JBS. The Craigavon based poultry producer is the North’s biggest private employer. One of the directors of JBS is Schull native Jerry O’Callaghan.
One thing’s for sure, the sums involved, with acquiring the processing firm and gaining a foothold in Europe by the Brazillian outfit, are not chickenfeed!
