We had the sunniest April in 94 years according to the Armagh Observatory. Rain was slightly higher in April and the average temperature was slightly lower.
Stalker reckons we made up for it in May. With the stats in for last month, it turns out we had the coldest May for 20 years according to the Observatory.
Wetter than average too it was with rainfall recorded on 26 days during the month. Apparently the spring temperature was 0.8C cooler this year than on average. As one report put it, May was wet cold and miserable everywhere around the country.
Rainfall was 235% greater than average at the Malin Head weather station during May!
