The Blend promotion being used by the Mushroom Council in the US is still going strong. The Mushroom Council’s Blend communications campaign has won the 2015 Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil award for Excellence in Marketing: Consumer Products.
The campaign “Mushrooms: The Culinary Trend is to Blend” beat out more than 800 entries in the popular category. The council maintains that the promotion is really affecting mushroom sales very positively, and that consumers enjoy the blend recipes for flavour and for health reasons. Pushing the produce is what it is all about.
