Vitamin D is to be added to bread in the UK for the first time amid concerns of a rise in rickets.
M& S are adding the vitamin to their bakery range. A survey by the company of 2,476 customers earlier this year found that 78% would be positive to vitamin D enrichment.
The company already is in the business of providing vitamin D enriched food with the Monaghan range of mushrooms specially grown for them.
