Nearly a quarter of parents have admitted that their entire knowledge of farming comes from the Archers and Emmerdale, according to a survey in GB by Linking Environment and Farming (Leaf).
The survey of 1000 found that one fifth were so out of touch because they had never been to a farm.
A third did not know that apples could be grown in Britain.
