The European mushroom research effort, MushTV, is both amazing and productive. Amazing getting so many countries to collaborate together on an agricultural scientific endeavour, it is quite a feat.
Productive in that the project is also putting out helpful research to growers across the continent, that can be practically employed right now.
Recent research findings indicate that it is vitally important to disinfect floors after cook out. The floors are covered in spores like Verticillium and Cobweb even after cooking process!
Growers should disinfect down corridors everyday to prevent build up of spores around the farm; weekly wash downs are too long an interval.
A video on the MushTV Project is to be available from this month, May 2015, on the MushTV website: www.mushtv.eu – surely a must view for all discerning mycophiles.
