News of a new compost plant in Co.Tyrone hit the headlines in the middle of April. A massive £15 million investment in a new facility near Cabragh, between Dungannon and Ballygawley, was given the planning go-ahead by the newly functional Mid-Ulster “super-council.” The motive force behind the whole project is the Northway Producer’s Organisation. As one northern compost facility winds down, it seems another magically springs up. There could be a lot of life left in the old industry yet. We’ll just have to wait and see.
