There has been a sharp rise in the number of cars sold in Ireland - following strong growth in 2014. There was a 48.5% rise in the number of new cars licensed in March, with 17,000 new private cars licensed for the first time. If new car sales are a good barometer of economic health , then the Irish economy is surely on the up!
On the European scale new car registrations were up 10.6% last month. All major markets contributed positively to the overall expansion to 1,604,107 units i.e. cars, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.
