The closure of the training department at Greenmount agricultural college is likely to result in at least 20 redundancies it is feared. This is all part of the DARD £30 million in cuts, with up to 300 jobs for the axe in total.
The outcome of the latest round of cuts will no doubt be felt for many years to come. Stalker noted that Queens University Belfast was also making big cuts to student numbers and staffing levels.
It seems as though educational establishments around the north are bearing the brunt of the tightening.
