Looking at the photographs of the Sylvan/ Teagasc trip to Poland, they clearly reveal that the country was having the kind of summer most of us here dream about.
All you have to do was look at the beaming phiz of Brendan Burns and Co in the glorious sunshine.
The clinching proof that Poland experienced the summer that we were all hoping for came from an unlikely source. Newspaper reports indicated that Lech Walesa, the former president of the country, decided to shave off his world famous moustache because of the intense summer heat.
The moustache, which became famous during the resistance to communist rule, is no more. Mr Walesa recently told a Polish magazine that he had refused a million euro offer from an unnamed razor brand to shave off the moustache for a commercial. However the superb weather tipped his hand to clear the bristles form his upper lip.
