Watching an old episode of The Simpsons, where Homer tries to become an inventor a la Thomas Edison, Stalker noted mention of a mushroom farm.
In the cartoon they say that Edison set his son, Thomas Edison Junior, up in a mushroom farm – which must have been some time in the early part of the 1900s.
Apparently it was situated in New Jersey. Just an interesting little bit of mushrooming history. One wonders what a mushroom farm looked like back then.
