As an indicator of economic activity and positivism, it is a pointer that things are moving in the right direction for the UK at least. In the eurozone, however, the clouds of gloom and stagnation seem to have gathered and stubbornly remained.
Ireland seems to be bucking the Euro trend, with new car sales up by 7% in October, and a host of other economic indicators have been positive.
