As mentioned before, new car sales are as good an economic indicator as any to go by.
Interesting then to note that new car sales in the South of Ireland were up 38% so far this year to August.
However the new car sales in Northern Ireland were down 3 % in August, the first dip in 19 months.
Generally the two economies north and south are moving at different speeds, but this disparity in new car sales would seem to indicate something more might be amiss.
When the real economic indicator figures come in we might learn more.
