SEPTEMBER DRY
The first half of September was the driest for more than 50 years according to the UK Met Office. There was a about 6.7 mm of rain across the UK in the first 15 days of the month. That is about 7% of the September average. This made the first half of the month the driest since records going back to 1960. The mean temperature and hours of sunshine have also been above average so far this month.
