The traditional English fried breakfast has been enjoying a comeback to breakfast tables apparently.
New figures from market analysts Kantar Worldpanel showed that more Britons are eating cooked ingredients for their first meal of the day. In the past six months they served them up on 142 million more occasions than they did a year earlier, an increase of nearly 10 percent. The researchers looked at foods such as eggs bacon sausages, beans and tomatoes. Stalker is pretty sure mushrooms will be in the fried breakfast also. Some experts reckon that a demand for natural sources of protein are on the rise due to slimming regimes like the 5:2 diet. One can be sure that if you starve yourself for a day you'll certainly be after a big breakfast the next day!
Another take on it from Jennifer Leck of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board is that: "Consumers want to get through to lunchtime without having to spend any more money. Products that help them do this are benefiting."
