The price of postage is a constant thing to watch for many small businesses up and down the country. The hikes last year in the UK postal rates were substantial and even eye watering to behold.
Stalker notes that the postage rates in the Republic, which were already similar to the new rates in the UK, are now to go up again from this month, July 2014.
The new rates are €1 for international and 68c for domestic post. Stalker notes that the weight allowances in the Republic are better - 100g's as compared to 40g in the UK. There are also discount options for businesses buying stamps in bulk.
Interesting to note also that an 1856 British Guiana one cent black on magenta stamp sold for $9.5 million in June.
Let's hope the postal companies don't start getting ideas for current postage rates on the back of this sale.
