One seasoned mushroom industry man asked if Stalker had seen the BBC4 programme The Magic of Mushrooms.
Having managed to miss the initial airing of the programme, Stalker availed of the BBC I Player, as they say making TV unmissable.
Presented by Professor Richard Fortey the programme is absolutely fascinating, and is undoubtedly required viewing for anyone interested in mushrooms and their place in the world.
From their evolution into a separate kingdom 1.5 billion years ago, through to their omnipresence in the cathedrals of consumerism i.e. the supermarkets, Professor Fortey weaves a wonder filled tale.
