This month’s edition carries an article about the proper and efficacious use of nematodes in mushroom growing.
It has been penned by experts in the field, namely the folk at the German bio-tech company E-Nema.
The company produce and supply nematodes for Sciarid fly control. They have supplied them to Irish mushroom growers since 2003 via Sean Scully and John Conway.
In the article the author examines how long do nematodes work in the casing or compost. Also he looks at when they should be applied and at what dosage rate.
He also looks at how they are best applied within the workings of the mushroom farm.
It’s good to see that grower’s are getting the gen straight from the experts who produce the nematodes.
